Keeping Privative Information Private

Tuesday, November 24th, 2009

I was happy to find Chicago computer support for my business, but I was weary of who these people actually were. In fact, living in a big city like Chicago has made me weary of all people I let into my office and business matters.

Chicago IT outsourcing is ideal for a business that needs help. However because it is so easy to get scammed these days, I suggest that every business do some research on a Chicago computer support company before they hire them. (more…)

In Love with my Tech Support, Chicagoan Guy!

Tuesday, November 17th, 2009

Okay, I know this may sound crazy, but I think I’m in love with my tech support! Chicago has been good to me, as far as IT support companies go, but I finally think I’ve hit the jackpot.

My IT outsourcing Chicago guy is nice, friendly and extremely knowledgeable in the information technology world. I never thought the combination was possible, but today I have been proven wrong.

Usually, when an IT company sends out a tech support guy, he is sort of anti-social, kind of arrogant and definitely lacking basic social skills. He will never look me in the eye or take the time to make sure that I understand what is going on with my computer.

What really frustrates me is that he uses all of this computer jargon that is way over my head and I have no idea what he’s talking about.

I’m completely confused the whole time, but I try not to show it too much, because it makes me feel stupid. So I continue to nod my head ‘yes’ with a puzzled look on my face.

But I never made much of a deal out of it because, after all, my computer problems were always fixed in the end.

Little did I know that I could have a tech support Chicago guy who fixes my computer problem and treats me like his equal! I know this sounds funny, but I always felt that some of those IT guys felt that I was inferior because I didn’t know what a hard drive was.

To my total surprise, my new tech support, born and raised in Chicago, is friendly, caring and super smart. Not only did he fix my computer problems, but he explained to me exactly what was wrong with my system, how he fixed it and how I can avoid the problems in the future.

Best of all is that he explained this in language that I could understand.

I’m sold. I will never use another tech support guy because I know that I will not find better than his services. Furthermore, he didn’t charge me until the service was completed and he got confirmation of my satisfaction.

The prices were so reasonable, too. Plus, he was pretty cute!

What the Heck Does ‘IT Support’ Mean, Anyway?!

Monday, November 16th, 2009

What does it actually mean when people say “IT support?” Chicago business owners are always talking about IT support and I always wonder the same things: does that have something to do with the “It Factor?” Is that what people mean when they say, “She’s got IT”? Bottom line, what does “IT” mean?

Okay, so now that I have done some research on the topic, I am ready to blog. IT, or information technology, is defined by the Information Technology Association of America as pretty much anything that has to do with computer programs and computer hardware that offers information.

More specifically, the development, design, study of or utilization of a computer or a program on a computer that delivers, stores or transmits information.

A computer can refer to any small electronic device such as a cell phone, television, laptop, etc.

So, why would anyone need IT outsourcing? Chicago, as you can imagine, is filled with small and large businesses and, guess what? I guarantee that each and every one of them is dependent on the existence of computers and certain programs.

I also guarantee that computers are not everyone’s strong point. Therefore, individuals and businesses need IT support. Chicagoans are lucky that there is a lot of competition in our area for IT services. This means that they get to be very choosey about who they hire. They don’t have to settle for sub-par customer service, nor do they have to settle for ridiculous prices.

A good IT support firm will be polite and break down technical jargon in simple terms that the average Joe Shmo, like me, can understand.

Hopefully the firm can assign you one technical expert that will stay without you throughout your business’ future, so every time you have a problem, he is already in the know as far as where you are, what you do and what type of a system you have.

Just make sure to do your research both online and via telephone. Search for some companies, check out their customer satisfaction guarantee and, remember, be choosey!

Chicago Computer Support Earns Respect One Job at a Time

Wednesday, November 11th, 2009

For all the competition in Chicago, computer support should earn its work one project at a time. Each time they should be proving themselves for the next job. There are simply too many companies working in the area to not demand the best.

Let them prove their worth with each project and job. You shouldn’t need to make any more commitment than your immediate satisfaction.

That comes down to paying the bill too. No bill is worth paying if you’re not satisfied with its service.

If you aren’t happy with the work that’s performed, it needs to be done again to your expectations or be on the house. You need a Chicago IT support company that’s willing to go to the farthest ends for your satisfaction.

Computer services come down to lasting relationships. Once you’ve found a good one you are happy with, you should stick with them so they can better know your system and your needs.

If you are going to use the same company for a long period of time, however, you want to make sure it’s a good one. You should demand nothing but the best.

Check into what guarantees they offer with their work. Also check in with how much emergency support they offer.

It’s also a good idea to check out how experienced their personnel are. Your tech support should have at least 6 years of experience, if not more.

You don’t want them learning your trade by practicing on your computers, sometimes learning the hard way at your expense. You shouldn’t be the company that has to break them in.

It’s also important to work with a company that doesn’t hire contractors. You hire the company, so then it should be their people who work on your computer.

You don’t want to compromise your system to a stranger or somebody no one can vouch for. Accountable companies will use their own people and not hire retainers.

Even though it’s a lasting relationship, you should be able to cancel your service anytime with no further obligations.

This means the company has to earn its business with you with every job, so you know you’ll be taken care of. You shouldn’t even have to pay a bill until you are completely satisfied. In Chicago, IT support should prove itself to you, one job at a time.

Your Chicago Computer Support Quality Counts

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

A continual relationship with your tech support employee or Chicago IT outsourcing company is important.

This way he or she can get to know your systems personally, suggesting ways to save money and improve performance, as well as be able to spot weakness and viruses quickly.

In Chicago, computer support quality comes down to the tech support person who delivers it.

You should always have the same person work on your computers, and you should form a first name basis relationship. The quality of your service rides on this one individual.

If he or she doesn’t meet your satisfaction, it’s time to find another service provider.

Tech support can get geeky, let’s face it. The problem is that the techie-ness can sometimes go straight to the individual’s head. You can’t understand them in their computer mumbo jumbo, and worse, they seem to be looking down on you, as if it’s you and not the computer who is stupid.

It can seriously damper the relationship. Not only is it frustrating, but it also limits the kind of service you receive in Chicago. Computer support needs to be down to earth to be effective.

That’s why it’s so important to hire IT support that speaks down to earth language that you can understand. It’s important that they understand the rigors of your own job and not look down on you.

There’s an important patient-doctor relationship that needs to develop. The more you trust them, the more likely you can confide your computer problems and needs and find more matching solutions.

Computer people should be easy to please. They need to recognize that not everyone is familiar with the fine inner workings of computers even if they do work on them every day. They need to be friendly, with an approachable attitude that you can confide in and trust.

In addition to friendliness, experience is also important. Ideally, you shouldn’t work with anybody who has less than 6 years of experience.

Don’t let them cut your teeth on your system. Get a trained and experienced expert who is versed in all aspects of the job.

Above all, they need to complement and improve the disruption in an office, not add to it. In Chicago, computer support should streamline office efforts for greater efficiency and improved productive performance.

They shouldn’t get in the way, but instead improve the workings of the system to improve flow.

In Chicago, IT Support Provides Cost Effective Solutions

Tuesday, November 10th, 2009

When you hire a Chicago IT outsourcing service provider, you get the best of both worlds. You get the personalized, customized attention you’d get from your own service personnel, but you don’t get the high costs of maintaining a fulltime employee just for the job.

Not only that, but you get professional services that can grow and expand to meet the changing needs of your business.

In Chicago, IT support from an outside company is personal enough to know your system, but big enough to grow with the expanding needs of your business.

It’s the best way to be cost effective yet flexible when it comes to Chicago IT support. Computer needs change all the time. You may grow in size. You may experience more problems than usual a particular week.

When things go down, you need the resources to effectively handle the problem immediately. The catch is problems can be hard to predict. A full time employee’s biggest job is probably trying to look busy when there’s nothing to do.

When emergencies happen, there’s too much to do and the single employee is overwhelmed. This produces a feast or famine situation, with your needs either being met by too many unused resources or not enough resources.

Hiring an outside company gives you the flexibility to adapt with your changing needs. When problems present themselves, you have emergency solutions, even on a 24-hour a day, 7 days a week basis. There’s no down time.

Of course, having a regular checkup and consultation from a tech provider will keep most small problems small. Crashes are the result of small difficulties that are ignored and left to fester on their own.

With a regular checkup, your tech provider can keep your system running so you never face dire emergencies. Half of prevention is being proactive.

Computer services are just that much more efficient through a network. They are cheaper than a full-time employee, but give you more flexibility to meet the demand. In Chicago, IT support should be regular and proactive, fixing problems before they’re even noticed.

Don’t put your tech support on the back burner. Get a regular and routine service so your system can be reliable. Computers come down to productivity. An active computer system keeps the cash flowing in.

In Chicago, Computer Service Means a Swifter Production

Monday, November 9th, 2009

The speed of business in an office often comes down to the speed of its computers. Computer problems can be more than frustrating; they cost a company considerable money in lost productivity.

Handling your computer problems with a viable solution will not only make your employees happier, but will make them more productive. In Chicago, computer service often pays for itself simply because of the increased production and improvement of morale it can bring to an office.

If you are a small company that relies on computers in Chicago, computer service is as vital as the most basic building blocks of industry. Your office production relies on a fast computer service.

If it’s not up to snuff, it’s costing you money, not to mention frustrating your employees. Fixing your system so that it is continually high speed is essential to boosting your production capabilities, not to mention improving your security and streamlining efficiency.

A slow system may be the result of low memory. A Chicago IT outsourcing provider can suggest cost effective ways to improve your memory and therefore the speed of your system.

It may also be a sign that the computer is weighed down with viruses and Spyware. These slow your computer down as well as make it available for hacker theft and computer crashes.

An IT tech can personally look at your system and find ways to make it better. He or she can suggest upgrades and help you install them.

They may find other ways to do things that are more efficient. They may also suggest important backup strategies to save your system in the event of a crash.

Sluggishness might also be the result of how you connect to the Internet. An IT service provider can look at your system with personal detail and determine the difficulty.

It may be as simple as a software upgrade. He or she may suggest a new Internet provider. Often, they can find cost effective solutions to your problem, getting you back up and running for better production with a minimal of overhead.

Get your problem handled efficiently with personal consultation with a service provider. It’s a vital tool for survival when it comes to small businesses in Chicago. Computer service can deliver the productive speed you are looking for.

In Chicago, Tech Support that Counts Makes All the Difference

Friday, November 6th, 2009

When it comes to small businesses in Chicago, tech support is usually the strongest area where change can really save money. It all comes down to getting the most efficiency and power from your computer resources.

Computers are the nerve center of an office, determining the very level of production. A down system is worse than frustrating; it’s a waste of money. Your office’s very means of production crawl to a standstill when a system goes down. All you have to rely on is your IT support.

For many businesses in Chicago, IT outsourcing and computer support simply doesn’t get the emphasis it deserves. When you consider how much the functioning of your office and its production force comes down to IT technology, a well-processed company that can adequately handle your problems is crucial to doing business.

It’s every bit as important as paying the electric bill and other overhead costs. Without good tech support, your system grinds to a halt and essentially falls out of business. Having an outside tech service to get it running is essential to getting back to work.

A quality tech support service includes everything form 24 hour, 7 days a week emergency response to system security to customized design to get the most out of your office processes. It’s more than just having a computer nerd in your corner when something goes wrong. It’s about having a complete system that keeps your system up to snuff.

Depending on the size of your business, you can get tech support that meets with your team weekly, bi-weekly or monthly to check your systems and handle the concerns of your staff.

He or she will spend half of their time going through your systems, scanning for viruses, memory problems, and defaults. The rest of the time will be spent personally working with your staff to find out how to make their jobs easier.

This means that IT support essentially optimizes your office’s performance, improving its productivity through better-enhanced systems that get the job done. For businesses in Chicago, tech support comes down to dollars, both by saving and with an increased capacity to make more.

By streamlining your computer services for better efficiency while cutting down on your costs, you can enjoy greater profit, savings and productivity. Good tech support makes all the difference in the world.

In Chicago, Tech Support Vital to a Small Business’s Health

Friday, November 6th, 2009

Computers are lifelines for many small businesses. They offer networking and communication tools that just cannot be managed any other way.

When your system goes down, your entire business practically disappears, isolated from the world and prevented from doing business. Your ability to make money is paralyzed until your system is back up and running.

In Chicago, tech support can be a company’s most important investment. When it comes down to it, it’s your computer service that keeps the company online and functioning.

Considering the importance IT support plays in security, data management and the very functioning of the office for businesses in Chicago, IT outsourcing and tech support should never be put on the back burner.

You’ve got not only your infrastructure to think about, but the financial security of your customers as well. If you deal in online financial transactions and your computers generate a virus, your customers are at risk too.

That puts your very reputation on the line, as well as the loyalty of a customer base that isn’t easily repaired.

It’s easy to put it off, but when problems hit, they are often considerable because they’ve run rampant for so long. Consistent support checks through your systems for viruses and other security issues, catching problems when they are small before they rip through your whole system.

If you wait to call tech support when you’ve ground to a halt, you are often already too late. The damage is done. It may be repaired, but it can take considerably more work than a proactive approach would have involved.

That’s why you need regular visits from an IT technician, one who knows your system as well as the needs of your staff.

Whether the visits be weekly, bi-weekly or every month, your tech will thoroughly check your system and repair any snags. He or she will also address your staff’s personal needs, keeping your system streamlined for best performance capabilities.

In Chicago, tech support can make or break a business. Everything these days comes down to digital security, protecting your secrets and keeping your systems healthy and functioning.

Ignore it, and problems can fester until your system is completely riddled by viruses. Give computers the help they need, and they’ll run faster and more efficiently, providing ultimate productivity through a smoother performance.

Set Standards for Chicago IT Services

Thursday, November 5th, 2009

Menu items widely vary with Chicago IT services. Some offer bare bones service for a discount, but then don’t offer emergency response services, limiting their time only to scheduled appointments that don’t always meet the convenience of your system’s demand.

Others nickel and dime you with whispered fees and added charges, surprising you with a bill when the work is finished that’s considerably larger than you ever agreed on. Some offer disreputable service, banking on the bet that you won’t bother to find someone new who can do the job better.

Substandard IT support can cost a company greatly in time, money as well as frustration. It’s important to get quality support, but the only way to truly insure a company is worth your commitment is to hire a company that requires no commitments.

The only commitment required should be your satisfaction. For small businesses in Chicago, IT outsourcing services should have to prove themselves with every service performed, month-by-month. If they aren’t worth your commitment, you shouldn’t be stuck with inferior services.

There are a few things to look for when hiring a qualified IT services provider. The first is no commitments. You pay bill-by-bill, service-by-service. Another important standard is requiring up-front invoices explaining all fees in advanced.

You shouldn’t get stuck with hidden fees. It’s also important that all services come back with a guarantee. You shouldn’t be required to pay any bill for services you aren’t completely satisfied with.

24 hour, 7 day a week Emergency tech support is crucial because you never know when you’ll need a helping, techie hand. Computers often go down at the worse moments.

They don’t sleep, so neither should your provider. You should be able to get someone on the phone for immediate help during business hours, and at least have your call returned within the hour in the middle of the night or on weekends.

Set standards when it comes to choosing Chicago IT services. It’s a decision that can affect every factor of your business, indeed the very smoothness of office operations. Quality IT support comes down to your security as well as your customer’s.

Your productivity depends on it, as does your time management and data security. Make sure you choose a company that gives you the flexibility to change if you are left unsatisfied. Anything else just isn’t good enough.
